This was the first year that I’ve been to New York City at Christmastime. Rather than recounting every detail, I’ll share the highlights and let the photos speak for themselves.
Running in Central Park
I went to Central Park years ago on my first visit to NYC; however, I didn’t research it in advance and ended up seeing a boring corner of it before giving up. This time around, I made it my mission to see the entire park by running! There’s a loop around the park that spans over 6 miles. I’m glad I wasn’t the only fool out there on Christmas Eve running in the rain!
Rachel used the fancy portrait mode on her phone for my pictures. The one of her that I took with my phone turned out good as well.
I’ve been to the top of the Empire State Building previously and read on another blog that the views from the Rockefeller Tower are much better (and the admission is cheaper). Rockefeller Plaza is where they put the big tree and I was surprised to learn that it’s real. The views from the top were definitely way better than the Empire State Building.
I’ll sum up the rest of the trip with a concise list:
- Disappointing play at the Hulu Theater
- Used the subway for the first time and had fun getting lost
- A few introvert hangovers
- Good food (mostly)!
